Where It Comes From
Millstream Home was created as an ode to married couple Jake and Janelle's Amish heritage. In 2016 they began tracking down the most talented + timeless local makers still using historic production methods. Their makers live simple lives and create beautiful products. They believe that American Made Matters and that supporting the local Maker is always worth it. When you make a purchase from Millstream Home, you directly support each Maker and their family here in their hometown of Lancaster, Pennsylvania - their basket weavers and quilters, toymakers and seamstresses, potters, blacksmiths, leatherworkers, candlemakers and broom weavers. Each piece is made in small batches in someone’s shop, shed, or garage turned craft room. And they wouldn’t have it any other way! No elaborate factories here, just a hard days work and a life spent doing what they love. Their hope is that you feel the care and love poured into every item.
