Alternative to plastic baggies and other less effective food storage supplies.

While conventional plastic bags and boxes suffocate vegetables by trapping stale air and ethylene gas, these damp cotton bags keep moisture-loving vegetables alive and crisp in a high-humidity, breathable environment.

Vejibag is a healthy, eco-friendly alternative to plastic, for storing and preserving vegetables in the refrigerator. Stow all kinds of moisture-loving greens, carrots, celery, etc. to keep fresh and crisp for up to two weeks.
  • The Standard size is great for carrots, cucumbers, peppers, baby spinach, or heads of lettuce. Size: 11"W x 12"H
  • The Large can fit kale, celery, zucchini, and leafy heads of lettuce or larger amounts of loose leafy greens. Size: 11"W x 17"H
  • The Extra-Large can fit several heads of lettuce, lots of kale, huge amounts of collards, and tremendous amounts of beets. Mix and match your veggies in this bag, or store 5 heads of romaine lettuce and munch on salads for the next couple of weeks. Size: 14"W x 17"H

Use Instructions

STEP 1: WET THE BAG, THEN WRING IT OUT.

Vejibags establish a moist, breathable environment for your produce. To begin, wet the bag and then wring it out so that it is just damp.

STEP 2: RINSE VEGETABLES.

Rinse your vegetables carefully, remove any damaged areas, and then gently shake off any excess water. If you're washing lettuces or greens, there's no need to spin. Let your Vejibag do the work!

STEP 3: STORE AND DAMPEN AS NECESSARY.

Store in the main compartment of your refrigerator or in a slightly opened crisper drawer. When the bag dries out after several days, re-wet slightly by running it briefly under the faucet, vegetables and all.

Care Instructions

Machine wash and tumble dry.

If your bag gets stained you can safely remove most stains with oxygen bleach or make your own environmentally friendly stain remover solution with 1 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide and 2 Tablespoons of washing soda. Add enough hot water to the hydrogen peroxide/washing soda solution to cover bag and let sit 24 hours.

End of Life Instructions

Paper tag can be recycled or composted. Bag can be composted.
